March 30th- April 3rd

If you have not sent in your money and permission slip for BOWLING, please do so this week. THANKS!

testing started today. It is very important that your child is on time to school everyday so that testing is not interrupted in the school. Also, please try not to check your child out before 12:00 during this week of testing. Any classroom volunteers will have to wait until the afternoon to come to classrooms. THANKS!

Box Tops are due Friday, April 3rd.

Our Easter Egg Hunt will be April 8th at 1:00. Please read the note coming home today about the hunt. PLEASE do not stuff eggs with any chocolate candy! It will melt before we get to it--YUCK! Stickers, erasers, and other candy that is not chocolate are a great idea!

Our Kindergarten graduation celebration will be coming up in May! A note with your child's line is coming home on Tuesday so they can "practice".

March 24th-27th

Dear Parents,

Welcome back! It was so good to see all my sweet smiling faces this morning. I hope everyone had a relaxing spring break!

If you have not signed and returned your child's report card, please do so as soon as possible.

We went to the library today! Please help your child read their new book tonight. If your child has a book at home please send it back to school.

I sent home the bowling field trip permission slip today. We will go bowling on April 17th. You may go ahead and send in your permission slips. We are asking that you NOT send money until March 30th. All money will be due April 13th.

It is almost time for our Kindergarten Easter egg hunt! We are planning on having it April 8th. We have not discussed a time yet. I will send a letter home discussing this further. I would like for us to go ahead and start stamping/painting the t-shirts. If anyone is available April 1st I would like to try and finsh as many shirts as we can. If you are interested please let me know! Thanks!

Our new sight words for this week are: came, are, was, well, and now. If you can please practice the words WANT and WHAT. These seem to be giving everyone problems. Thank you for all you do.

March 9th-13th

Dear Parents,

We have a field trip to the museum tomorrow! Please remember to dress your child in their yellow field trip t-shirt. We will be leaving around ten and returning to the school at twelve.

I wanted to thank all of you for your help last Thursday. Without your help it would not have been successful. I was so impressed by our wonderful children!! We had so many compliments even from Mrs. Alma Powell. She had to be escorted our early by security so she would not be bombarded by everyone at the conference. Mrs. Powell sent word through a representative that she loved our children and thanked us for coming!! If you have any pictures you would like to share please e-mail them to me. I will try to get a slide show of the summit posted soon.

We have a very sneaky visitor in our room this week! The leprechaun made a mess while we were outside playing! We read Leprechaun on the Loose and discussed different ways we could catch our not so friendly visitor. Please help your child make a leprechaun trap. We will set our traps on Thursday.

I recently sent home a letter about the kindergarten yearbook. Please fill it out and return it in your child’s binder. This will help give us an idea of how many books to order. If you have not gotten a chance to see the yearbook from last year you are more than welcome to look at it.

March 2nd-6th

Happy Tuesday! I cannot believe it is already March! I feel so blessed to teach these children and be apart of their lives. Thank you for all you do to make a class so successful!

What a great weekend!! I know everyone had a great time playing in the snow. Please feel free to let your child bring in pictures to share. We had an extra long share time on Monday as they discussed all their snow adventures.

Remember to have your child bring a book to school tomorrow for the book exchange. We will have a special time to read our new books.

Thursday is fast approaching! I wanted to give you an update. As you know Thursday is the character parade. If your child is participating in the Governor's Summit they will not be able to participate in the parade. However they can still dress up and where their outfit for the day. The kids will need to wear their uniforms on stage. We will meet at the front of The Embassy Suites at 2:15. I will be standing there with volunteers to help make sure all the children get to the back room. There will also be volunteers to help you get where you need to be. The Conference will be almost over by the time we get there, therefore there will be NO seating. They will sneak you in the back for our little friend's debut! The kids will go on stage at 3:00. They will say "we want to graduate" three times. Once they have had their big speaking roll they will go back to the waiting room. Once the room has cleared out a little we will walk to you in the back of the ballroom. Please remember that you have to check your CHILD out from school. It will be the parents responsibility to take their child home from the conference. If for some reason you have an unexpected conflict please let me know! The Governor's office is expecting 18 children to be there. Please Please Please call or e-mail me if you have any questions!!!

On Friday, our school will "Walk for Diabetes." Please make sure your chid has appropriate shoes to walk in. If you would send in your collection envelope as soon as possible. Thank you for your support.

~Childhood should be a walk of discovery, not a race to the finish line.
