MPS Transportation Hotline Opens Monday, August 8th!
Montgomery Public Schools’ Transportation Department will open a hotline for parents that will run through September 9. Parents may call (334) 223-6900 to be connected to transportation staff members during the following dates and times:
- August 8-11, 2011 (Monday-Thursday), 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
- August 15-19, 2011 (Monday-Friday), 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- August 22-September 9, 2011 (Monday-Friday), 9: 30 a.m. - 1 p.m. (Closed on September 5 for the Labor Day holiday)
Though the hotline has five lines, there may be times when the phone lines are busy. Callers who don’t immediately get through may leave a message, which will be returned by transportation staff or they may send an email to transportationinfo@mps.k12.al.us. Callers may also leave questions for staff on voice mail after hours and leave their name and daytime phone number so someone can get in touch with them.
This year we are working with the Montgomery Symphony to have an after school strings (violin, cello, …) program three days a week. We are in the process of working out the details, I will keep you updated.

The Butterflies are here!
We have had so much fun watching the stages of metamorphoses in room 134! Alyssa was so sweet to share her butterfly garden with us. We started with just caterpillars, then we watched them make chrysalises, lastly we have seen them become butterflies! We plan to let them out on Friday!

January 26th
We will be celebrating the 100th day of school on January 26th. One way we will celebrate is by dressing up like we are 100 years old! I can’t wait to upload the pictures!
Please look for a letter in your child’s binder. We are in need of different items to make this the best 100th day celebration. Thank you for all you do!
Here are some examples. :)
Classroom Needs
We need treasure box items, Smart Skittles, Hershey Kisses, and we would love if somebody could donate a cake for the 100th day of school (for a special celebration snack).
